Busy, Busy, Busy
Sorry for the lack of posts lately, we have been so busy with a new adventure in our life. I am unable to write about it now, but will do so when everything is complete in the next few months.
But now, onto the last way that I make money using the computer. MyPoints.com First of all there are two ways that you can sign up to join My Points. First, just go to their web site and sign up. Second, I can receive bonus points for inviting you to sign up. You can do this by e-mailing me (address on the side), then I will e-mail you an invitation to sign up. I can only invite 5 people a month, so the first five willing to help me will get invitations in March.
But here is how My Points works: it is basically a get paid to read e-mails site. When you sign up, you will receive about 4 - 5 e-mails a day as bonus e-mails. Click them open, and scroll down to the bottom to the orange box marked "get points". Click the sponsors web page open, let it open the whole way. Then close it and delete the e-mail. It is just that easy. Everytime you open a e-mail you get 5 points. They do add up quickly. I personally only sign up for a few of the "get more points if you register" sites. And I make sure to enter my spam e-mail account. I have only purchased from Vista Prints to get my free + s/h business cards. Make sure you are only purchasing things you were already planning on getting, or it isn't a real money maker in the end.
I have been using My Point for a full year now. And to be honest I have just really been keeping up with the daily e-mails. I did purchase a $25 gift card to Resturants.com last month for 1250 points. I picked that card, because on thier web site you can buy $10 gift cards to local resturants for just $3.00. So for me, it was a way to stretch the "free" money even further. Don't tell my brother-in-law that he will be getting resturant gift cards for his wedding gift this summer :) Since purchasing that gift card, I already almost have enough to purchase another one.
So it really is that easy. If you would like to start now, go and sign up. If you would like to help me earn 100 points for every refferal, please e-mail me (address on the side) and I will send you an invitation to join. Either way it is an easy way to earn a little extra money using your computer.
Have fun, and let me know what kinds of gift cards you are going after.

Making More Money - Cash Crate

I have mentioned Cash Crate before, and it is a slow but stead form of income for myself. At this point it is covering a tank of gas every month. It's not a ton of money, but I am not going to turn down money of any kind. Here is how Cash Crate works:
First of all sign up. Be sure to have a spam e-mail account that you are using. Otherwise your e-mail account will be flooded with hundreds of unwanted e-mails a day.
Go into Members area (under your name) to see what offers are available.
There is a Cash Offers page. Those are the offers that you can do to earn the dollar amount that is displayed next to it. There is a daily survey link to do up to two daily surveys for money also.
How many offers you do is entirely up to you. You can do one hundred a day, or do just the daily surveys every day. The more you do, the more you make.
Once every month on the 15th, they send you a check out if you have cleared more than $20.00. It is really that easy! This past month I made $25.28. I have kept a running total on the side bar as to how much money I have made with Cash Crate. I am not breaking the bank, but it is great extra spending money.
If you have any questions about Cash Crate, please e-mail me and I will answer your questions.

Making More Money with your Computer
In part two of this series of how to make a little exra money, is the way I have made the most money and had the most fun with.
I have a program that I like using to design invitations and such for birthday parties. I use this program to make designs that would look good on t-shirts, coffee mugs, bumper stickers and such. I save them to my computer as a JPEG file. Then I just download the file to their web site and pick what items I want themm to be screen printed on. People find the products, purchase them, and you get a commision check in the mail a month later. It is really that easy!I have a button on the side that puts you right to my store if you want to take a look.
I personally do have a premium shop, but also have multipule free shops to. If you want to try it out, try with just one design, and open a free shop. Read all the different material they have to offer, and e-mail me if you have any questions that you can't figure out.
This month I received a check for $104 left over from my Christmas sales. My two biggest times of the year are Christmas sales, and Earth Day sales. I tend to make alot of Mother Earth related shirts. Think of what you like and can't find in the stores, think outside the box. Get creative, and write down funny sayings when you think of them. You can even use personal artwork with a scanner. The possibilities are absolutly endless! I found this web site when I was looking for a Dodgeball t-shirt for my son 4 years ago. I couldn't find anything in the local stores, and when I Googled Dodgeball t-shirt, I discovered this site. I started slowly, and am now up to about 150 designs and trying to add even more designs. It can be addictive. But it feels great when you get the first e-mail stating "You made a sale".
Let me know if you need help, and keep me informed of your progress if you want to give it a go. Good Luck, and have fun with it!
CafePress is an online store for t-shirts, mugs, ball hats, greeting cards, calenders, even underware. You are basically selling your designs. You crate and download your personal design, then tell Cafe Press which items you would like to have them printed on, and they do the rest! No supplies to keep, no inventory to keep, very little web site updates to upkeep, no shipping of goods by you. I have been a member since February of 2005. This is how I pay my internet bill every month! Here is how it works:

Making More Money

Busy, busy, busy weekend. I spent the whole weekend at a dance convention and competition for the two older kids. They both did a great job, and their dance walked away with the first platinum of the year. Ali did great at the convention, she ended up taking 1st place overall with the Magic Performer of the 08-09 year. Basically she just paid for next years convention, and any of their other conventions through out the country, plus she could go dance in LA this summer. Pretty proud of both kids. But to dance you must have money. So these next few weeks I am going to share with you different ways I make extra money to help pay the dance bill.
Week #1 Food Taste Tests.
This one is easy, fun and yummy. I joined two different taste test companies in the Twin Cities area. The first is Food Perspectives and the other is Consumer Surveys. If you Google food taste tests and your home town, I am sure you will find them in your area too.
The fun of these is getting to try new foods, giving your opinion about them, then getting a check when you leave. It couldn't be easier. The taste test I took this past week paid $30 for about 10 minutes of my time. And it was testing a food I already like and buy, just a different flavor. You must qualify for these types of tests. Just answer honestly and you will be amazed at how easily you will qualify. You can only test once every two months, so it is not a huge money maker.
I did however find out that if you show up early for the test, and they overbook the test, you will be paid for just showing up. You can take your check and be on your way, and you can qualify for another test within that same time period, because you never actually tasted anything. So in this instance, it pays to be on time!
Both my husband & I do taste tests from time to time. Even both of the older kids have participated before. They just needed to be the right age to taste test. This was an easy way for them to make a little extra money. They both got paid $30 for about 15 minutes of "work".
If you live in the Twin Cities, check out the two sites above. I have used Food Perspectives for 6 years now, and Consumer Surveys for about 2 years now. They are both trustworthy and honest companies. I am not getting paid to tell you about them, but you will get paid to test for them.
Live in a different city and do food taste tests, leave their link and let others know about them too!

Primary Elections TODAY...Go Vote

I am working the elections this morning, and I want everybody to get out there sometime today and vote in the primary elections.
Not sure where to vote? Go here and enter in your home address in the grayish box on the left side. It will tell you where you should vote, and even show you a map of where your polling place is, anywhere in the country.
Want to make a little extra cash during the elections? Contact your local county about training to become an election judge. I have been an election judge for three years now, and you really do have alot of fun, and meet some great people in the process. You work two election days and 1 training day (in my county) and you get paid a good rate to do it. Check it out today if you are interested.

Sometimes it DOES Pay to be on Time

I have been participating in food taste tests since my oldest was in kindergarten. I know this because I signed up to participate under her school (which she no longer goes to). But since we do still go to church there, I still keep the extra money going to the school there.
But to get back on track. I went for a taste test yesterday. I was the second person to show up to sign in. Well, they over booked the taste test and could only test 30 people, and 34 people showed up. The first four people had the option of just receiving the check without even having to do the taste test. Well why wouldn't I do that!
So I basically got paid to sit for half and hour and read my Cosmo magazine (the one I got for free here).
Here is how I earn a little extra cash doing this. In the Twin Cities area there is a company named Food Perspectives. You can also sign up here to participate. You do not need a non-profit group to sign up with. If you are doing it through a non-profit, they just receive $9 of every test you take. No non-profit, you get the whole amount.
You receive a number and password when you sign up. Make sure to write it down. At one point I received a magnet where you could write your number and passwords on, so I keep mine & Jeff's on the side of the fridge. You will receive a phone call one of two ways to see if you qualify for a taste test. Either a live caller will call you and ask you a ton of questions, or a computer generated call will come through with the same questions. If you qualify, you pick an available time, and show up that day. They normally pay you anywhere from $26-$36 per test.
You can take one test every two months. So it is not a huge money maker. But it is fun and different. I took a few tests with the older kids once. They got paid too, plus they enjoyed waiting for the test food to come to market. Whenever we see them on the shelves for the first time, we always buy one, coupon or not. Every time we go past a certain cereal, the kids always say "Remember when we tested that one?"
I know this company is just for the Twin Cities area, but I am sure there are companies all over the country that do this. I would suggest asking friends if they have heard of this, or Google food taste testers in you local area. Food Perspectives is a totally legit company, and I am not being paid to tell you about them. I do however get paid by them to test foods :)
You can read more about Food Perspectives here, and be sure to sign up if you would like to try it out. Both my husband and I have done at least 10 different food products, and enjoy everyone of the tests.
Let me know if there are any taste tests in your neck of the woods. Leave a comment to let others know.

$100 an Hour Winner!

What a way to wake up this morning! I worked late last night at Target, and even hit Cub Foods on the way home for their awesome 50 cent sale. So I was sleeping in this morning. The phone started ringing at 9:00, and then rang again. I figured somebody must need to talk to me pretty bad. It was my husband calling. When I talked to him all I heard was "Call KQ they just announced your name for the payroll!" At that point I was wide awake, and butterflies hit my stomach instantly.
I had 9 minutes and 52 seconds to call in to get $100 an hour until the next winner calls in. Well I got through, told Tommy B my name and address, and he said I was a winner! $100 an hour! I think I also won tickets to the TPC tournament, which is a huge PGA Golf Course about 10 miles from my house. The reason I say I think, is everything was in fast forward, and I heard half of everything. I will see what gets mailed to me this week.
The guy announced in the 10 O'clock hour did call in within the time frame too, so I only got the first $100. But I am not complaining. I am in a great mood today, and can't stop smiling (while I am vacuuming the house).

So I would like to thank 92 KQRS for the great opportunity to win a little money. I have been a loyal KQ listener ever since I can remember. Literally. I remember back in 1984 when a tornado ripped through my home town. My brother & I couldn't hear the tornado sirens because we had KQRS cranked so loud. So thank you KQ!
Remember tonight is KQRS' last night of 92 cent beer too! (See post below)
Do you have a radio station you listen to everyday? Have you checked out their web site for such opportunities to win? It might be worth your time to see if they have any contests or promotions. If you are listening anyway, why not win something.

New Coupons to Print on the Side!

Have you notices a new look to the side bar on the left? You are now able to print coupons right from my site!
Why would I offer this you ask? Well you might be surprised to know that I don't make ANY money doing this blog. The only money I generate is in the savings to my personal grocery bill each month. Coupons.com will pay me a few cents each time you print one of their coupons from my site.
Once again, I won't get rich, but I will make a little to help cover my pop & snacks that I am always eating while doing my blog. I won't EVER charge you a fee to read my blog to help you save money. I can't understand blogs charging a monthly fee for something that is supposed to save you money.
Here is how the coupons work: You can click QUICK PRINT if the coupon you want is already showing on the screen. Or you can click SHOW ALL COUPONS. A second smaller screen will pop up and show you all the tons of coupons that are available to print at Coupons.com right now.
It couldn't be easier!
So if you are in the habit of printing coupons from my site anyway, I would appreciate the print from my side bar. If the cash starts to roll in, I will also keep you up to date on the totals. I like to show you how I make a little extra cash using the Internet. Hopefully soon my running total at Coupons.com will be on the side bar as well.
THANK YOU FOR CLICKING!!!

Little Check from Cash Crate
I was very busy this month with the kids ending school, dance recitals & so forth and my Cash Crate check proves it. It was only $11.79 this month. But hopefully July will be a little better. I am sure that the summer months will be a little hard with the kids being around. I used to do my Cash Crate stuff when they were at school, and the little one was napping. We'll see I guess.
If you would like to try Cash Crate for yourself, click here to get started today.

Another Check From Cash Crate!
I received my second check from Cash Crate this weekend. I have it pictured above to show you it is for real!
Many of you have been asking about if Cash Crate is real or not. I would not suggest anything I have not tried myself. I am not here to trick or swindle you. I do try everything first before I post about them. I know my family and friends read this blog, and would be embarrassed if they tried something that would hurt them in any way.
My suggestions for using Cash Crate:
First of all get a junk e-mail account. If you use your real account you will be getting junk e-mail every five minutes.
Use a secondary phone number if you have one. There are many web sites that an get you a secondary phone number for free. I suggest googling "free phone number" to find one. I personally use our fax number, so I never got a secondary number this way.
Only fill out surveys that you are comfortable with. If you don't feel comfortable with information they are requesting, either use altered information, or quit the survey. I never use my exact birthday. I don't feel comfortable with people knowing my name, address and birthday these days.
And last, be sure to fill out the daily surveys. They are on the main page by the surveys you pick. The right button in the chart is for daily surveys. They pay $.80, and are available every day.
So if you are ready to give Cash Crate a try, click here to sign up and start making your checks too! Be sure to comment on the size of your check, or e-mail me. I would love to add a secondary total to show how much my readers are earning every month.

GET READY FOR EARTH DAY 2008

Earth day is coming up fast, it falls on a Tuesday this year April 22nd. While you are out planting trees and picking up garbage make sure you are wearing the latest fashions. Cafepress is holding a free shipping sale on orders over $75. They also have some really clever and thought provoking Earth Day t-shirts, tote bags, buttons and baseball hats. My favorite is the "My Mom recycles more that your Mom" which I have pictured above. The great thing about Cafepress is that you can order that design on many different styles of shirt and tons of sizes to fit anybody from infants to XXL. You can also click on the button on the left side if you want to start designing and selling your own products too.
I have made and ordered many t-shirts from this site, and can recommend them with confidence. The three designs at the top are my own designs and my children do wear them proudly. Their stock is always changing and have SO many different designs to choose from. So go have some fun and look around here.
